Volunteer Forms
Who are these for?
Thank you for volunteering for Combat Stress! If you are looking to take on one of these roles, then then please see the next section;
- Peer Support Volunteer
- Veteran Voice Volunteer
- Fundraising Volunteer
- Anyone volunteering at one of our Treatment Centres or Hubs and our Head Office
Why do we need this?
The roles listed above require some checks to make sure we are in compliance with various bodies. For all roles, we will need a record of your personal details, a health assessment to make any reasonable adjustments while you're volunteering with us, and a declaration form with details of referees. We will need two references covering the last five years of employment, or a personal reference if there has been a break in employment. There is also an optional Diversity Monitoring form which is completely confidential and only used to get a better idea of who our volunteers are.
In rare cases, people from overseas may not be able to volunteer on their visa. We therefore need to check for each person's right to volunteer using a document such as a passport or visa.
Different roles will require different levels of DBS checks (PVG in Scotland or AccessNI in Northern Ireland).
- Peer Support Volunteer: As you will have direct contact with other veterans who may be classed as vulnerable adults, we need to complete an Enhanced DBS check (PVG in Scotland or AccessNI in Northern Ireland).
- Fundraising roles: As you may be involved in events at schools, youth groups or care homes and will be responsible for handling donations, we need to complete a Basic DBS (PVG in Scotland or AccessNI in Northern Ireland).
- All other roles will be evaluated on a case by case basis
For DBS checks we will require 3 forms of ID, which will be verified by a Combat Stress employee. Guidance for the documents required can be found here.
