Living Archive - Pre-launch promo

Our Living Archive project

Be part of something that will last a lifetime

In our 100th year we are joining Age Exchange to train veterans in interview and film-making techniques so that they can help us record 100 interviews with other veterans and their families.

These stories will become part of the historic archive at Combat Stress. They will also be part of an exhibition that will tour across the UK later on this year.

We need you!

We would love for you to share your experience of serving in the military, how it had an impact on your mental health and the support you had from Combat Stress. Your close friends and family members are also welcome to come with you to share their stories, because we know that mental health problems can have an impact on loved ones too. Please note that friends and family members must be over 18 to be involved.

What's involved?

Once you have let us know that you’re interested, we will book a time for you to come along to one of our three treatment centres (whichever one is nearest to you). This is where you will have your interview, which will take no longer than 45 minutes.

You will be asked questions about your time in service, how your mental health was affected and how you were helped by Combat Stress. You will not be asked to go into any detail about the cause of your trauma.

If you’re a veteran who has been helped by Combat Stress and you’d like to be part of this project, please email Georgia at stories@combatstress.org.uk
