COVID-19 Support Training
TRAINING OVERVIEW
This training package has been developed to support employees of care home organisations during COVID-19.
The training aims to help the learner better understand the emotional responses of care workers to the Coronavirus pandemic.
It provides practical ideas about how to provide psychologically informed support within the workplace. This webinar was originally delivered to help care home managers provide psychologically informed support for their staff teams, however it will be of interest to a wider audience including all employees of care homes.
Learning Outcomes
- Understand the range of unique challenges faced by care home workers in the times of the COVID-19 pandemic.
- Raise your awareness about the range of emotional responses to COVID-19.
- Familiarise yourself with national guidance regarding the phases of emotional response to COVID-19 in healthcare workers
- Gain confidence in providing the appropriate level of emotional support to your colleagues and team
- Be equipped with some conversation starters
- Knowing when and how to refer for psychological support
- Familiarise yourself with a range of freely accessible external websites and apps to support psychological wellbeing

Intended Audience
Care home employees, including managers, care workers and non-clinical roles.
Total Learning Time: Approximately one hour; fifty-minute recorded webinar and three brief self-reflection exercises. You may wish to schedule longer for discussion time if you are learning in a group format with your colleagues or team.
