CEO update on Audley Court protest
Falklands veteran Gus Hales has held a protest outside our Shropshire treatment centre Audley Court for more than a month.
Two weeks ago we had to take the difficult decision to temporarily relocate our services delivered at Audley Court and hold veteran appointments in alternative locations. This was due to the anxiety the protest was causing to veterans attending the treatment centre, and the verbal threats and abuse some of our staff had received from individual protestors.
We are aiming to resume services at Audley Court as soon as possible but we have to ensure the safety of the veterans and staff before we can do so.
Our Chief Executive Sue Freeth has recorded a message explaining the situation and how we are working to resolve the concerns raised by Mr Hales.
