Our thoughts on Prime Minister Rishi Sunak’s apology for historic Armed Forces ‘Gay ban’

We were pleased to hear the Prime Minister’s apology yesterday for the appalling historical treatment of LGBT veterans.

We know this has had a damaging impact on the mental health of affected veterans, and we are currently working alongside the LGBT military charity Fighting with Pride, as part of an Independent Review Group, to further understand how to best help them.

In the meantime, our support is available to veterans from every service and conflict regardless of gender, race or orientation.
