News of service redesign
An update on our services
When it comes to veterans’ mental health, Combat Stress leads the field. We’re internationally recognised for our expertise and no mental healthcare provider understands better than us the traumatic experiences and unique mental health needs of veterans. What’s more, our research continues to develop the understanding of veterans’ mental health needs and deliver innovations in how to better serve them.
We’ve helped former servicemen and women with mental health problems such as anxiety, depression and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) for 100 years. During that time our service has constantly evolved to best meet the needs of our veterans. This year we are undertaking a complete review of our services with the aim of furthering our ability to provide the best possible care for our veterans. We are looking at why, what, how and to whom we deliver our services in order to improve even further. We need a service model that can meet the needs of veterans from more recent conflicts - many of whom are juggling work and family commitments.
We are now 90% reliant on donations so we need a service that can adapt and change accordingly. We are working closely with veterans, their partners and families and our staff to make this happen. Whilst we don’t yet know what shape the redesign will finally take, it’s unlikely that any redesign will be implemented all at once.
We want all former servicemen and women with mental health problems to lead full and meaningful lives, and we are committed to being there for them to make this happen.
