Long term supporter raises over £14,000 for Combat Stress

Latest Stories

Long-term supporter of Combat Stress, Marlene Gotch, who has raised over £14,200 to date, has just embarked on her latest project for the charity - reusable bags containing floating duck food.

Marlene, who for many years tirelessly supported us at fetes and carnivals by selling home-made jam, marmalade, cakes, and books, decided to make bespoke face coverings, at the start of the first COVID-19 lockdown, in the hope of raising £500 in aid of veterans’ mental health.

She started advertising her masks on social media and before long had to call in her niece to help her with the demand. She managed to raise in total an incredible £10,000 from her face coverings, and she was awarded Regional Fundraiser of the Year 2020 at our Extra Mile Awards.

Marlene is now concentrating on her latest project; reusable bags containing floating duck food, trying to be as environmentally friendly as possible while continuing to support us.

We are incredibly grateful for the selflessness, dedication and efforts of Marlene. We couldn’t do what we do without supporters like her.
