International Women's Day - acknowledging and supporting women veterans with mental health needs

Latest Stories

Today on International Women’s Day, we wanted to acknowledge the 11% of the UK armed forces who are women.

Sadly, many UK women veterans report that they can often feel invisible within the veteran community, marginalised by the media, and underserving of or otherwise unable to reach out for help.

Here at Combat Stress, we want to change that. Given that approximately 10% of women leaving the armed forces report experiencing symptoms associated with PTSD, compared to 7% of men, it’s so important that women veterans feel seen and comfortable to reach out for help, should they need it.
