Our partnership with British Military Fitness

British Military Fitness (BMF) have partnered with Combat Stress to promote fundraising challenges to their members.

For almost a year the fitness company has provided weekly classes to veterans receiving treatment at Tyrwhitt House, our treatment centre in Surrey. These sessions encourage the veterans to become more active and teaches them the positive impact physical health can have on mental health.

Through the partnership British Military Fitness will also support us in fundraising events, by providing training plans and encouraging members (and non-members alike) to participate in challenges in aid of Combat Stress.

British Military Fitness are kindly giving anyone who takes part in a challenge event for Combat Stress 2 weeks free membership. You have the option of joining British Military Fitness or Walkfit classes.  If you are taking part in a event and haven;t already received your redemtion code please email challenges@combatstress.org.uk

Robert Marsh, Director Income Generation at Combat Stress said;

“It is well-known that physical exercise has many health benefits, including having a positive impact on mental health. We’re so grateful to British Military Fitness for working with the veterans here to help improve their physical health.

“We’re glad to further develop our relationship with British Military Fitness and look forward to working with them to promote our fundraising challenges.

“Each year we receive more than 2,000 referrals from former servicemen and women with issues like anxiety, depression and post-traumatic stress disorder. It’s vital that we raise awareness and funds for the charity, so we can continue to support every veteran that comes to us for help, this partnership will be a great way for us to do this.”

Chris St George, Chairman at British Military Fitness said;

“We’re incredibly proud to be able to give back to the Armed Forces Community. As a highly pro-active military employer, it’s important for us to be able to provide support for all veterans.

“As a leading charity in this sector, we’re honoured to support Combat Stress and their work towards veterans’ mental health through physical fitness.”
