Wincanton Racecourse commemorates Combat Stress Centenary
We’re commemorating our centenary this year with a special raceday at Wincanton Racecourse in Somerset.
On Sunday 27 October Wincanton Racecourse and The Jockey Club will host The Combat Stress Centenary Raceday. Falling during half term, it will be an action-packed family day with entertainment, food and drink around the Grandstand and Premier Enclosures. Wincanton Racecourse and The Jockey Club hosted Combat Stress racedays in 2014 and 2016, helping to raise more than £98,000 in total. This year they’re aiming to raise more than £55,000 for us.
Robert Marsh, Director of Fundraising, said: “We’re so proud that Wincanton Racecourse and The Jockey Club have chosen to commemorate our centenary with two special days, and I thank them for their support.
With the number of veterans seeking help from Combat Stress having doubled in the last decade, every donation we receive from racegoers really will make a huge difference in ensuring we can continue to support those who need us.”
