MAKE YOUR MINUTE MATTER

Support veterans this remembrance day

Remembrance Day is a time to reflect on the sacrifice veterans have made. It’s a time to stop and think. While you take a minute, consider how a minute can change a life and reflect on what some veterans have faced, veterans like Richard who have paid such a high price for serving their country.

I tried to get back on with life, but I couldn’t function properly. At one point I tried to take my own life whilst on duty.”
- Richard, RAF veteran

There has never been a more crucial time to support our work with veterans. Demand remains constant, and veterans urgently need your help. We want to be there to provide specialist help for every veteran in their hour of need.

We give veterans the tools and techniques they need to manage their mental health and well-being for life. It takes a minute to donate and it can help change a veteran’s life for good.

Richard's Story

“It’s been amazing to turn my life around. I’m able to survive day to day now, and when things start to go awry, I know what I need to do before I get to a really bad place.”

- Richard, RAF veteran

At just 20, Richard had served on the frontline in Iraq and Kuwait. It left him with devastating PTSD. But with help from Combat Stress, he’s now looking to the future.
Richard says he’s the total opposite of the person he was after returning from the Gulf.

“Since undergoing treatment, I’m able to look back and analyse things. I understand now that I had to do things I didn’t agree with but it was what I was trained to do. “I’m so grateful for all the help and advice Combat Stress has provided me – I’d be six feet under without their support. It’s been amazing to turn my life around. I’m able to survive day to day now and when things start to go awry, I know what I need to do before I get to a really bad place."
