Our partnership with the GRIM challenge

Combat Stress has been announced as the official 2018 charity partner of the GRIM challenge.

We have partnered with the off-road event to encourage supporters to take part and help raise vital funds.

The challenge will take place in Hampshire this December, with participants running or jogging one of three available routes – either four, eight or 16 miles.

This partnership follows the success of last year’s event, where we raised over £20,000 by taking part in the GRIM challenge alongside a corporate supporter.

Robert Marsh, Director Income Generation said:

“We’re so grateful to the GRIM challenge for choosing Combat Stress as the official 2018 charity partner.

“Each year we receive 2,000 referrals from former servicemen and women with trauma-related mental health problems such as anxiety, depression and post-traumatic stress disorder.

“Last year we raised an incredible amount through the GRIM challenge and we’re looking forward to raising even more this year. It’s vital that we raise awareness and funds for the charity, so we can continue to support every veteran that comes to us for help, this event is a great way for us to do this.”

John Gladwin, Founder of the GRIM challenge said;

“We are delighted to be partnering with Combat Stress for the 2018 event. Having seen first-hand how they are helping those who have risked their lives for us, I know their work is vital in helping these heroes get their lives back on track.

“Developing a mental health problem due to military service is something most of us, thankfully, will never need to face, so we hope that Grim Challenge competitors will help support Combat Stress to enable them to carry on their essential work.”
