Carols London
Carols London
Guards' Chapel, Wellington BarracksThursday 4 December 7-9pm
Celebrate the festive spirit at the The Guards' Chapel in London. You can expect an evening of carols and readings and every ticket will help raise funds to support veterans’ mental health.
The service will feature performances from the chapel choir, The Band of The Royal Yeomanry and season readings from some of our wonderful supporters.
After the concert, we will be holding a reception for those who would like to join us for canapes and to raise a glass to all the veterans we support.
A heartwarming evening not to be missed!

The Venue
The Guards’ Chapel
Located near St. James’s Park, Guards’ Chapel is the spiritual home of the Household Division. As the only Royal Military Chapel in London, it also serves all troops within the London District who are not part of the Household Division.During the Second World War, the roof was badly burnt by incendiary bombs in 1940, but it was on Sunday 18 June 1944 when disaster struck. At 11.10am during morning service, the Chapel was hit by a flying bomb which entered
at the western end and exploded, killing 121 soldiers and civilians.
The Chapel was destroyed except for the apse, but the six silver candlesticks were unmoved by the explosion and the candles remained burning.
Despite wartime restrictions, a temporary chapel was erected in a Romney Hut attached to the undamaged apse and this was used from Christmas Day 1945 until 1962 when the rebuilding began.

“I’m really looking forward to be taking part in this year’s Carols. It’s a fantastic opportunity to support an incredible charity that does so much for veterans. Life in and after the forces can bring unique challenges, and having the right support makes all the difference. As someone currently serving, I know how valuable that help can be, and I’m proud to play a small part in raising awareness and showing support for a cause that is close to my heart.”

“I have supported Combat Stress over the years, helping to raise awareness for this amazing charity and the vital work they do for our veterans and the wider Armed Forces community in need.”

“It’s an honour to have been invited to play a small part in the Combat Stress Carol Concert this year. Combat Stress is a leader in class and so we at Wellington Barracks and the Royal Military Chapel are delighted to host the event again. Military Charities play a vital role in supporting serving and retired Service Personnel and their families. As a serving Army Officer who has benefited from support by many of these charities, I’d like to express my gratitude to all who work in the field. Christmas, while a joyful occasion for most, can bring unwanted stressors to those who link painful events from their past to it. Tonight, let’s be grateful for the good in our lives and remember those in need at this intense time of year.”

"If it wasn't for the help Combat Stress gave me, I wouldn’t be here, so I’m pleased to be reading tonight to support the charity.”
