The Eveson Trust awards Combat Stress funding to further support West Midlands, Herefordshire and Worcestershire veterans
Combat Stress has been awarded an £8,000 grant by The Eveson Trust, to help fund our life-changing specialist services for veterans living in the Trust’s geographical beneficial counties of West Midlands, Herefordshire and Worcestershire.
On average 73% of veterans who undertake our treatment recover. This is an incredible impact and significantly above the recovery rate for PTSD of other mental health services.
The grant will help us to ensure that veterans in these regions, struggling with complex mental health issues, will continue to receive the best possible treatment and support.
Chloe Mackay, CEO of Combat Stress, said: "PTSD does not go away on its own, it requires specialist treatment and support from those with knowledge and understanding of what veterans have experienced.
“We are experts in treating the impact of military trauma and, thanks to funding from The Eveson Trust, we can continue to change the lives of those who turn to us for help.”
Claire Bowry, CEO of The Eveson Trust, said: “We are proud to be supporting Combat Stress, the UK’s leading charity for veterans’ mental health, to ensure that former service personnel are able to access and receive the expert care they need to manage the psychological impact of their military service."
The Eveson Trust is an independent grant maker which provides funding to registered charities whose causes come within its remit and that operate in Herefordshire, Worcestershire and the metropolitan boroughs of the West Midlands. Last year the Trust supported 285 charities with grants worth £4.8m.
