New training launched to help the nation to better support veterans struggling with military trauma
Ahead of PTSD Awareness Day (27 June), Combat Stress, is, for the first time, offering a specialist training programme to help increase understanding on the causes, symptoms, impact and treatment for the condition
Access to the ‘Trauma and PTSD’ course will be available between 1 June and Thursday 3 July 2025. During this period, there is no charge to undertake the course.
All the content has been written and developed by our award-winning Learning and Development team. There are two different variants of the course available – one specifically for friends, family and carers of veterans and the other is aimed at professionals working with, supporting or treating veterans.
Titled 'Trauma and PTSD', the programme takes approximately 90 minutes to complete and can be undertaken in an individual’s own time, at a pace to suit them. To find out more or to register for the training, visit https://learn.combatstress.org.uk/ptsd-training.
All those who have completed the course will have the opportunity to have an interactive live one-hour Q & A session with Dr Vicky Aldridge, Principal Clinical Psychologist and Clinical Lead at Combat Stress.
Dr Vicky Aldridge, said: “We are delighted to be able to make our Trauma & PTSD training content available to all.
“For anyone looking to learn about PTSD in veterans and how they can support a loved one, beneficiary or a veteran they know, this course provides an excellent foundation.
“Through both self-directed learning that you can complete in your own time, and a live session with our experts, you can develop both your knowledge and learn new skills on this important topic.”
