Announcing our new CEO Chloe Mackay
9 April 2024
Chloe has been Deputy Chief Executive of the Forces Employment Charity since 2016 where she is responsible for veterans’ services, including employment programmes and organisational support to those in the justice system. She also chairs the Cobseo Justice Cluster.
Before joining the Forces Employment Charity, Chloe held the roles of Head of Strategy at Macmillan and Breast Cancer Now and previously worked as a management consultant for PricewaterhouseCoopers and IBM.
Chloe will join Combat Stress in July, when there will be a smooth handover from current CEO Jeff Harrison who announced at the beginning of this year his intention to retire.
She said: “I’ve had a fantastic eight years at the Forces Employment Charity supporting those in the Armed Forces community to live fulfilling working lives.
“Combat Stress is a charity with a remarkable history, renowned for its clinical excellence and an innovative research department that is a leader in military mental health. So, it is an incredible opportunity to take the helm of this charity and drive the organisation forward to make an even greater difference to the lives of veterans and their families.
“I am really looking forward to getting started and working with everyone at Combat Stress to continue the outstanding work already being delivered across the UK to support those affected by military-related trauma.”
Our Chairman Giles Peel said: “We are delighted to appoint Chloe as CEO of Combat Stress after she excelled throughout an extremely rigorous selection process. She brings extensive experience from the charity and private sector, and I have no doubt that the charity will continue to go from strength to strength with her at the helm.”
