Steven Brown launches Private McCoo and the Troops
Internationally renowned Scottish artist and creator of the McCoo, Steven Brown has launched a new collection to raise money for Combat Stress.
Steven is kindly donating 10% of every sale from the Private McCoo and the Troops collection to Combat Stress, to support the work we do to help former servicemen and women with trauma-related mental health problems such as anxiety, depression and post-traumatic stress disorder.
Last year Steven visited Hollybush House to discuss art therapy and how art has helped his wellbeing. Art therapy plays an important role in the residential treatment programmes we offer. Some veterans can find it hard to talk about their experiences, so art therapy gives them another way to express their emotions. Since his initial visit Steven has been back several times, including attending the Hollybush House fete in June.
Robert Marsh, Director Income Generation said;
“We’re so grateful to Steven Brown for supporting Combat Stress, by both visiting the veterans at Hollybush House and through his new collection.
“Each year we receive 2,000 referrals from former servicemen and women with trauma-related mental health problems such as anxiety, depression and post-traumatic stress disorder. It’s vital that we raise awareness and funds to ensure we can continue to support every veteran who comes to us for help. The support we receive from Steven will help us to achieve this.”
Steven Brown, said;
“Our goal at Steven Brown Art is to get the name of Combat Stress out there, to let people know the fantastic job all the guys there do for our veterans, and of course raise some cash too”.
