How we can help you

At Combat Stress we know that serving your country can take its toll.  Every year a small but significant number of veterans leave the Armed Forces with complex mental health problems.  As experts in the treatment of Service-related mental health issues, we offer a range of services to provide veterans with the support they need to recover.

Combat Stress 24-hour Helpline

Don’t feel you’re alone – if you serve, or have served your country, as a regular or reservist, our 24-hour Helpline can provide confidential advice on mental health problems and how to get help.  If you’re a family member or carer worried about a loved one, you can call the Helpline too.

Community support

Pop in centre

We also provide support through our nationwide Community Teams, giving veterans access to specialist help and support for their mental health conditions through our community clinics. Many of these clinics are based in The Royal British Legion Pop In Centres – veterans visit the Pop In Centres for appointments and group sessions with Combat Stress representatives.

More intensive treatment

For those veterans who need more intensive treatment to recover from mental health issues, we provide specialist clinical treatment at our three residential Treatment Centres, in Ayrshire, Shropshire and Surrey.  We offer three different short stay treatment programmes to help those suffering from conditions such as depression and anxiety.  A six-week specialist Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder Intensive Treatment programme is also available.

Our trained, professional staff will work with you to help you find the support you need.

All of our services are free of charge to veterans.
