Frequently Asked Questions

I do not have much money

You might be surprised about your wealth, especially if you own your own home and have life insurance or savings. Making a Will is the only way to ensure that the people you love and the causes closest to your heart benefit from your estate as you want them to.

Can I leave my legacy to a specific part of Combat Stress?

Yes. We understand that many people are passionate about a particular area of our work or want their gift to be spent locally and we are committed to honouring your wishes as closely as possible.

However, as we cannot be certain where the greatest need will be in years to come, gifts made unconditionally could be more useful to us. If possible, we would ask that any specific requests are stated as a preference and not a condition. If you would like to give in this way, we recommend contacting us so that we can discuss your intentions.

What wording do I need to include when leaving a gift?

I give [% of my residuary estate] / [£X,XXX specific amount] / [object] to Combat Stress (registered charity number England and Wales 206002, registered charity number in Scotland SC038828), Tyrwhitt House, Oaklawn Road, Leatherhead, Surrey, KT22 0BX, for its general charitable purposes and direct that the receipt of the Treasurer or other duly appointed officer shall be sufficient discharge to my Executors.

If you have any other questions or would like help with the wording to include Combat Stress, please contact Emily Jarvis at Emily.Jarvis@combatstress.org.uk or call on 01372 587144.
