Consultant Psychiatrist - England North
Based at our England North
Salary: Dependent on experience
Hours: Part-Time, 18.5 hours per week
Combat Stress was established in 1919. We are the UK’s leading charity for veterans’ mental health. For a century, we’ve helped former servicemen and women deal with trauma-related mental health conditions like post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), anxiety and depression.
Today we provide UK-wide support to veterans from every service and every conflict, on the phone and online, in the community and at our treatment centres. We’re on a mission to raise awareness that invisible injuries can be just as hard to cope with as physical ones. So, when a veteran is having a tough time, we’re there to help tackle the past and to take on the future.
About the role:
The post holder will work in North England providing psychiatric leadership across the service. We provide services both in person and digitally, so there is the opportunity for both home and office based working. You will provide senior clinical and psychiatric expertise to the multidisciplinary team contributing to the assessment, diagnosis and recommendations for psychological treatment for veterans. Combat Stress specialises in the treatment of veterans with complex mental health problems, particularly PTSD, so this is a great opportunity to specialise in a rewarding and interesting field.
This role is subject to a DBS check.
There is a legal requirement that all staff working in a CQC regulated location must be fully vaccinated (received both doses of a recognised vaccine) unless exempt for clinical reasons. If you are appointed to work with the charity, you are required to provide proof of full vaccination as part of your pre-employment checks.
What we offer:
You will work within a reputable charity that is constantly evolving to meet the needs of our veterans, that has a fantastic cause and a committed follower base.
