Combat Stress summer fete raises record breaking amount

The Combat Stress Hollybush House treatment centre fete has raised a record breaking amount for the veterans’ mental health charity.

Held on Saturday 10 June the fete raised an incredible £8,924, the largest amount the charity has raised through the fete in the 25 years it has been taking place.

The Hollybush House fete offers the unique opportunity to visit the treatment centre and grounds to learn more about its place in the Ayrshire community. This year entertainment included live music performed by several local artists, bush craft skills provided by representatives from Dumfries House Activity Centre and a raffle presented by artist Steven Brown. The Ayrshire Hillbillies bikers also rode in from Wellington Square for the afternoon and presented a cheque for £1,800.

Kath Provan, Regional Fundraising Manager in Scotland said;

“We are so grateful to everyone who supported us at this year’s fete – whether by donating, volunteering or visiting on the day - and helped us to raise a record breaking amount for Combat Stress. Without the support of staff, veterans and the local community none of this would be possible.

“The Hollybush House fete is a great event in our fundraising calendar, it is vital that we raise awareness and funds for the charity to ensure we can continue to support every veteran that needs our help.”
